The Chris Canty Foundation invites the community to come together for a wonderful evening to raise awareness and support for our youth, at the Champions Gala.
The Chris Canty Foundation will host the Champions Gala on the evening of June 17, 2011 at the beautiful Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge in South Charlotte from 6:30pm – 10:00pm. This elegant event will not only serve as a fundraiser for youth, but will also honor those civic leaders who are truly making a major difference in our community. The Chris Canty Foundation is inviting the entire city of Charlotte and surrounding areas to come together for one incredible night to raise awareness and support for our youth.
The Champions Gala is a formal affair, and guests will enjoy a red carpet entrance, cocktail reception, a full course gourmet dinner, live entertainment, a silent and live auction, awards ceremony and more. The keynote speaker will be ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, and this year’s honorees include Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe and Bishop George Edward Battle Jr. of the historic A.M.E. Zion Church. The foundation will also recognize several programs and organizations that share the same passion and commitment to positively impact the lives of youth including Johnson C. Smith University, the Police Activities League and United Way of Central Carolinas.
Chris Canty of the New York Giants, who is the founder of the Chris Canty Foundation and recently named 2011 New York United Way Man of the Year, has rallied the support of several current and former NFL players who will be in attendance for this spectacular evening of fellowship and philanthropy. Other special invited guests include well-known individuals from the music and entertainment industries.
