Charlotte Checkers Advance To 2nd Round of Playoffs
Charlotte advanced to the second round of the ECHL playoffs Sunday when center Daniel Tkaczuk deflected a shot behind Toledo goalie Jordan Pearce in overtime and the Checkers won 5-4 at Time Warner Cable Arena.
The victory gave the Checkers a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-5 first-round series. Charlotte will meet either Cincinnati or South Carolina in the American Conference semifinals. Their series was 2-2 with the final game Sunday night at South Carolina.
The first two games of the semifinals will be Friday (April 16th) and Saturday (April 17th) at Time Warner Cable Arena.
