2012 Labor Day Events taking place in and around the city of Charlotte, NC.
Labor Day Celebration at U.S. National Whitewater Center
On Saturday, September 1st, 2012, enjoy free concerts from three bands starting at 4pm at the Whitewater Center, followed by a fireworks display over the whitewater river when it gets dark.
2012 Charlotte Labor Day Parade
The 2012 Charlotte Labor Day Parade will begin at 10 am on Labor Day Monday- Sept. 3. The route for this year only will be from Pearl Street Park to Marshall Park- a distance of 1.3 miles.
This free festival, which will welcome the Democratic National Convention, will take place on Monday, Labor Day, starting at 10am, on Tryon Street between Stonewall and Trade Streets. The headliner act will be James Taylor but there will be many musical acts on two stages throughout the day.
Yard Art Day
On Labor Day, Monday, September 3rd, artists all over the Charlotte region will be adorning their front yards with art. This grass roots event has grown to include hundreds of participants. If you want to learn how to participate (you don’t have to be a professional artist; your contribution can be as simple as you’d like), see some examples and learn how to find the locations on Yard Art Day, follow this link.
Matthews’ popular festival celebrates its 20th year with three stages of entertainment, children’s entertainment, live music, a parade (10am on Saturday, September 1st), carnival rides, over 30 food and drink vendors and much more. Follow the link to see the schedule for the four day festival.
Charlotte Knights Baseball
Special 2:15pm Labor Day baseball game will mark the end of the regular season schedule for your Charlotte Knights. Fans can enjoy All-You-Can-Eat tickets available through the ticket office. Knights playoffs here on Sept. 7!
