Mint Hill Madness
Three-day festival, returns to Mint Hill’s Veterans Park, Memorial Day Weekend. The festival, which celebrates the founding of the town, takes place Friday, May 27th, 2016, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, May 28th, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, May 29th, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The festival features live music, a carnival, an arts and crafts fair, a parade and fireworks. The parade begins 10 a.m. Saturday. Admission is free but there are charges for some activities.

Saturday, May 28th

Kiss Anchor Island (weekly event kickoff)
Kiss 95.1 FM, Ragin’ Uptown, and Luxury Yacht Charters host this annual boat party series on Lake Norman, each Saturday from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, which means this is the kickoff for the year. There’s music, food, a cash bar, radio personalities, games, and a water slide.

Lake Norman Beerfest
The biggest names in brewing will gather at the Galway Hooker in Cornelius, N.C., on May 28, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the fifth annual Lake Norman Beerfest, a spectacular showcase of the nation’s and region’s craft beers. Headline entertainment will include Joystick and Gump Fiction.

6th Annual Memorial Day Celebration @ U.S. National Whitewater Center
The USNWC is the ideal location to enjoy a long holiday weekend, and the Memorial Day Celebration gives you a reason to do just that. 5 and 8-mile trail races start the day, followed by a cornhole tournament and live music into the evening. Stick around to enjoy our firework display at dusk, capping off a fun-filled Memorial Day at the USNWC.

Patriot Festival Go The Extra Mile 5K
SouthPark’s Symphony Park will host its annual 5K Race Monday. Participants can either register for the traditional 5K, or register for the Go The Extra Mile race, which has an additional mile to honor veterans. Following the race, there will be an awards ceremony and festival.
Registration Opens at 6:45am.

Memorial Day Ceremony at Birkdale Village
