Get Ready Charlotte! The 8th Annual Charlotte African American Festival (CAAF) is a celebration of the rich heritage and accomplishments of African-Americans. The festival will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm at Blumenthal’s Spirit Square which is located at 345 North College Street in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.
The festival will include exhibits, musical performances, art, literature, food, dancers, drummers, a pageant, speakers, vendors, and special awards and recognition. Special attractions will include a journey through the Underground Railroad with a Harriet Tubman impersonator, The Ashanti Pageant, and The Black History Walk of Fame which features impersonations of famous African-Americans. Proceeds raised by The 8th Annual Charlotte’s African – American Festival will support educational programs in the Charlotte community.
