You are invited to attend a Closing Reception for Marge Loudon Moody’s current exhibition ‘New Work’ at LOOM Co-Working, 120 Academy St., Ft Mill, SC on Wednesday, March 8 from 6 – 8pm. The artist will be present and will give a short talk about her work.
LOOM Gallery Exhibition ‘New Work’ Artist Statement:
The work in this show is a selection of acrylic paintings on canvas and acrylic gouache paintings on paper from 3 new bodies of work I made last year (2016) while on sabbatical from my full-time teaching position at Winthrop University, Rock Hill – the ‘Hanging Planes’ series, ‘Studio View’ series and the ‘Float’ series. The work was inspired by the immediate surroundings of my studio and depicts abstractions of things seen and experienced through close contact and observation on a daily basis, sometimes consciously, often subliminally. Colors reflect changing seasons and a ‘felt’ energy associated with each one.
