On Saturday, June 14, 2014, 1:00 p.m., author John Beakes will discuss his book Light Horse Harry Lee in the War for Independence in North Carolina, the second installment in a series highlighting the men considered to be the best officers who served under George Washington.
Beakes is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served in the U. S. Navy before going into business. He has worked in executive positions for technology firms for 25 years and is currently the chairman for Next Century Corporation. Beakes’ researches and writes about the American Revolution and the Civil War.
