Description
On April 1, the Ziad Jazz Quartet, with special guest vibraphonist Jon Metzger, pays tribute to one of jazz’s greatest and longest-running bands, the Modern Jazz Quartet. Founded in the bebop era, MJQ were an outlier in the era of hard bop; they could swing like their peers, but were as experimental in their own way as the avant-garde acts that eventually journeyed away from the form’s restrictions.
Concerts are performed at 6:00 and 8:15 p.m.
