Description

Mike Cross Launches his “Crossin’ Carolina Tour” at the Historic McGlohon Theater in Charlotte on Saturday, February 25th, at 8pm.

Mike’s return to the McGlohon Theater will be the first performance of his 2012 “Crossin’ Carolina Tour,” with upcoming concerts across the state including Greensboro, Durham, Winston-Salem, Morehead City and Wilmington.

Cross’s one-man, turbo-charged stage shows serve up a collection of humorous songs, sensitive ballads, Will Rogers-like tales, Delta blues, and fiery Celtic and Appalachian fiddle tunes, all while switching effortlessly from fiddle to six and twelve-string guitars.

Mike’s music is a unique blend of folk, blues, rock, country, and Irish, spiced with a good dose of wonderfully warped wit, which “crosses” all musical boundaries and defies categorization.

“I always look forward to playing in Charlotte and it will be a special treat to perform in that beautiful theater named for the legendary Loonis McGlohon.” Cross said, “Of course the best part of the evening for me is getting to talk with old friends and meeting new concert goers after the show.”

Mike’s song “Carolina Calling” was featured by the NC Department of Tourism for a Visit North Carolina ad campaign. A song he wrote in 1973 called “The Scotsman” gained notoriety as the theme song for the Dr. Demento Radio Show, and “Leon McDuff” was recorded and performed by the Dirt Band for the first Farm Aid Concert.

Get you tickets early for an evening of music and laughter you will never forget!
