Description

Listen and Remember, a locally-written production concerning the life and legacy of President Andrew Jackson, ran for thirty-two seasons, moving from a field to it’s own stage at the Museum of the Waxhaws, which opened in February of 1996. Sadly, as time tends to do, the cast of the production moved on with their lives, causing Listen and Remember to close after those thirty-two long seasons, making it North Carolina’s second most top-attended outdoor drama before it’s closing.

Now, the stage of the Museum of the Waxhaws is coming back to life, with generous support from the Union County Arts Council, in a one night only gala event.

The performance for the night is the first-time production of Sassafras Cannon, a dark comedy set in the Civil War period, by internationally published playwright Timothy D. Starnes, and directed by Ryan Fay, notable student director of UNC Charlotte, with this production set to be his last local event before departing to attend a top-level directing study program.

The performance is set for March 28, 0215. The doors open at 7 PM, the show begins at 8 PM, guests will be treated to refreshments and admittance to the museum, along with, most importantly, a seat for the performance all included in the $10 ticket price.

The Museum of the Waxhaw’s auditorium has a 70 seat limit! Arrive early to ensure your seat!

The play is rated PG/PG-13 for content.
