Join us and Tavis Smiley for the grand opening of the most anticipated Gantt Center exhibition yet. America I AM: The African American Imprint opens with a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, June 30 at 10:00 am. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremonies. Tickets are now available for this opening.
Covering more than 10,000 square feet, the exhibition presents a historical continuum of pivotal moments in courage, conviction and creativity that helps to solidify the undeniable imprint of African Americans across the nation and around the world. The more than 200 artifacts and information within the exhibit provides context to how African Americans have contributed to and shaped American culture.
The Gantt Center presents America I AM: The African American Imprint, which celebrates nearly 500 years of African American contributions to the United States. This touring exhibition opens on June 30, 2012 and runs through January 1, 2013. The Gantt Center is the only African-American cultural institution to host this exhibition and serves as the last venue to house it in the Southeast as the exhibit makes its final tour.

Admission prices for America I AM are as follows:
• Adults – $12
• Senior / Student / Military – $10
• Children (3 to 13) – $8
• Children (2 and under) – Free
• Group rates for 10 or more with advance registration – $8
• Gantt Center Members – Free during first visit
Please note that America I AM is a special exhibit. Our regular museum admission prices do not apply. Admission to the Center is reflected in this exhibit’s pricing.
