Extended Stay Hotels Headquarters To Add 60+ Finance Jobs In Charlotte
February 8, 2012
Extended Stay Hotels is hiring about 60 to 65 new employees in its finance division as the company completes its headquarters move to Charlotte.
Most positions are traditional jobs like accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable, said Randy Patterson, executive vice president for human resources. Some are hourly, some salaried, and all will be located at the company’s headquarters in Ballantyne Corporate Park.
Extended Stay is managed by HVM LLC. The current company was formed by the merger of Extended Stay America Inc., and Homestead Studio Suites in May 2004. Extended Stay runs about 700 hotels in the U.S. and Canada, including seven in Charlotte.
Extended Stay announced it was moving its headquarters from Spartanburg, S.C., to Charlotte in March, bringing with it about 170 jobs at an average wage of $83,580, the governor’s office announced at the time. The company also pledged to invest $3.6 million in its new building.
The company was eligible for a Job Development Investment Grant of up to $4.7 million over 12 years.
Finance and accounting openings have seen something of an uptick lately in Charlotte, said John Baldassarre, president of the financial-services recruiter Tryon Search Group, who called the openings great news.
“It just adds more jobs in the finance and accounting arena,” he said. “Depending on the level, there will be a solid talent pool.”
