Arguably one of the most popular and successful comedians of our time, Martin Lawrence began his career doing stand-up on the Washington, DC circuit parlaying his act into a 1983 appearance on “Star Search.” He quickly became a household name and a pop culture phenomenon with the introduction of the FOX TV sitcom “Martin” which ran for five seasons from 1992 to 1997.
