Martin Luther King Jr Day More Than A Day Off

Martin Luther King Jr. Service Week 2010
January 16, 2010 – January 22, 2010

“Every person must decide whether to walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of destructive selfishness. This is the judgment. Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ ” — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Join Hands On Charlotte as they offer a special volunteer event to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Projects will take place from Saturday, January 16 through Friday, January 22, with a special emphasis on projects scheduled for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday on Monday, January 18. Projects will encompass dozens of service opportunities across the community. Volunteers will help renovate homes for seniors, maintain parks, spruce up homeless shelters, sort through donations, tutor children and adults, and more.
