Description

Join the Charlotte Museum of History as we celebrate the history and culture of Charlotte’s vibrant African-American community from the colonial period to the present. We invite visitors of all ages to tour the historic Hezekiah Alexander Homesite, navigate the Great Dismal Swamp, explore the world of heroes and villains (and even history!) found in the pages of graphic novels, and much more. Clayworks will also be on site for an innovative workshop: African Masks in Clay.
Special appearances by the University City Branch of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Voices of Eden Gospel Choir. This event is free and open to any members of the public looking to learn! Review our scheduled list of events for more information.

**Please note that the African Masks in Clay workshop has limited seating and does require preregistration.
