Description

Glorified Media is excited about announcing the 2nd annual Charlotte Black Film Festival ( CBFF) on March 1 -3, 2012 during the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tournament weekend. CIAA is a nationally recognized basketball tournament comprised of thirteen Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Since relocating this event to Charlotte, it has drawn over 170,000 people from across the country into the downtown and will serve as the backdrop for this year’s festival.

This year’s theme is “Share in the Creation, Diversifying the Dream”. The festival will take place at the New UNCC Center City Campus and at the Booth Theater. This year’s festival itinerary includes three days of educational and empowering film screenings, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities and so much more. In addition, on Saturday we end our festival with the prestigious “Red Carpet Vision Awards” whichwill recognize the achievements of emerging actors, composers, screenwriters and directors. The Vision Awards will be held at the Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on Saturday March 3rd at 7pm.

The mission of the Charlotte Black Film Festival is to heighten the awareness, promote the significance and need of African American cinema as an art form and to be a voice for independent filmmakers of color. Go to www.cbff.net for ticket and festival schedule.
