CHARLOTTE’S 11th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

 September 21, 2012

 Established in 1981 by the United Nations as an International Cease Fire Day And A Day of Non-Violence throughout the world

 100,000,000 Million people from all faiths and countries create a twenty-four hour Circle of Prayers For Peace by participating in local celebrations.

ONLY on this day –  ALL WARS STOP ~ ALL WEAPONS ARE LAID TO REST. MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD GATHER TO PRAY FOR PEACE WITH PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD

IN Charlotte, several hundred people will gather to listen as Speakers and Representatives from Charlotte’s Religious and Spiritual Traditions, including Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Islam, Unitarian and others present PATH-WAYS TO PEACE – how our diverse, Interfaith Community will work together to Help Create Peace in the coming year.

Local Choirs and Music From Many Traditions will entertain attendees, inspiring thoughts of Peace. Traditional foods and sweets will follow the Service. Charlotte’s Mayor and City Council members have been invited.
