The Nationally renowned “Get Motivated” Business Seminar scheduled to feature General Colin Powell, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former First Lady Laura Bush, and numerous other well-known figures (subject to change) will be held Thursday, October 29, at Time Warner Cable Arena.
The event expects to draw nearly 15,000 ticket holders to Time Warner Cable Arena during morning rush hour as normal commuters are already making their way in to the city. The surge of ticket holders traveling into Charlotte for the event’s 8 a.m. start (doors open at 6:45 a.m.) has the potential to cause large traffic jams and parking issues in the city.
To try and reduce delays caused by large numbers of people and vehicles coming to Uptown Charlotte, the following options have been established to provide the public with a plan for commuting options, including shuttle bus parking lots for ticket holders on event day.
Commuters and “Get Motivated” ticket holders are encouraged to consider the following options for transportation on October 29.
•Leave early for work or for “Get Motivated” event – doors for the event open at 6:45 am; event begins at 8 a.m.
•Carpool and use H.O.V lanes (for vehicles with two or more occupants)
•Utilize public transportation, visit Charlotte Area Transit System website or call (704) 336-RIDE for both bus and light rail service options.
•Ticket holders are encouraged to use one of the two FREE parking lots and take a FREE shuttle bus to Time Warner Cable Arena from 6 am to 6 pm on October 29. The two lot locations are: Metrolina Tradeshow Expo and Bojangles Coliseum

METROLINA TRADESHOW EXPO
Located at the Northeast corner of Statesville (US 21) and Old Statesville (NC 151) Roads, just east of I-77. Use the Sunset Road (US 21) exit off I-77.
Access to free parking and shuttle from the North or West off Statesville and from the East off Old Statesville.
Recommended for people driving from the East:
BOJANGLES COLISEUM
Located at 2700 E Independence (US 74)
Free parking and shuttle at the coliseum parking lot.
SHUTTLES AT BOTH LOTS TO RUN CONTINUOUSLY ON OCTOBER 29, beginning at 6 am
For “Get Motivated” patrons coming from the South:
The use of the Lynx light rail to the Arena / CTC station is highly recommend as well as a CATS bus to the Charlotte Transportation Center located across E. Trade Street from the arena. The new parking deck at the NASCAR Hall of Fame will be open and have limited parking available. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is just three blocks from Time Warner Cable Arena.
