2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast
McCrorey Family YMCA presents its 16th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast. Presenting sponsor for the event is AT&T. The event will be held Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Westin Hotel at 601 S. College Street in uptown Charlotte. Doors open at 6:30 A.M. The program starts at 7:00 AM.
Keynote speaker for this year’s breakfast is former CNN Financial Network Anchor Valerie Morris. Morris is an Emmy award winning journalist who left her broadcast career of over 35 years to focus her attention on improving financial literacy for women, young adults and people of color – the most disenfranchised segments of the population when it comes to money issues.
“As a public speaker, Valerie Morris is able to use motivation and education to empower different populations to become more fiscally sound and self-sustaining,” said Al Austin, McCrorey YMCA executive director.
Proceeds from the event are directed toward programming for children, teens and active older adults at McCrorey YMCA. Individual tickets for the event are on sale now at all locations of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. Tickets are $35 each.
