2015 NC Music Factory 5K Rock ‘N Run Saturday, August 8th
The Mission of the NC Music Factory 5K Rock ‘N Run/Walk event is to promote community health awareness, develop awareness with area businesses, connect Charlotte-Mecklenburg to the “New North End”, and create a social and economic impact in the North End corridor.
The History
The NC Music Factory 5K Rock ‘N Run was founded from within a fragile community called Lockwood (comprised of Plymouth Avenue, Sylvania Avenue and Keswick Avenue). In the late 90’s, the Lockwood community was on the edge of gentrification, overwhelmed by drugs and prostitution. The hope and determination of a few community members fueled their ability to believe in the model that “we could change, we could make a difference”.
Proceeds from 2015 NC Rock N’ Run will benefit Community Dream Builders.
