Bobcats Ready to Dunk Hunger

The Charlotte Bobcats have announced that the organization will provide Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina with more than $20,000 worth of non-perishable food items this winter as part of its annual Season of Giving activities. A canned food structure resembling the Bobcats locker room at Time Warner Cable Arena was unveiled in the building’s Trade Street entrance lobby, and will serve as a reminder to fans to bring canned and other non-perishable food items to games between now and December 21.

“Hunger is one of our community’s most pressing issues, and between the generosity of our fans and our new owner we should be able to severely limit its reach this winter with this canned food drive,” said Bobcats Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield.

Donations can be made at Time Warner Cable Arena’s four main entrances; Fifth Street, Trade Street, Lowe’s Home Court and the Executive Entrance. Every fan that brings non-perishable food items or makes a monetary donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina will receive a buy one, get one free ticket offer for any weekday game in December.
