Charlotte Hornets’ Value Increases to $1.25 Billion on New Forbes’ List

Forbes magazine recently published its annual valuation of pro basketball teams, pushing the Charlotte Hornets to $1.25 billion.
According to the Forbes rankings, the Hornets increased in value by 19% over 2018, driven in large part by a league that boasts a slew of popular superstar players, a tech- and pop culture-savvy audience and enviable labor peace between players and owners. Charlotte isn’t even among the most valuable teams; the Hornets are 28th among the 30 NBA clubs.
This for a franchise Jordan bought eight years ago for $175 million.
