Description
Local independent filmmakers seek to grow Charlotte’s reputation as a cultural center by sending one of our very own to the world stage through this international film making competition. Join us for the premiere of the 2016 Charlotte 48 Hour Film Project Collection!
Charlotte is one of 137 cities around world competing for twelve slots at Cannes 2017 film festival via The 48 Hour Film Project.
Come and watch a collection of films which were made by nearly 500 local artists in a single weekend! Filmmakers assemble a team to compete for best film: teams draw, at random, a genre of film then are assigned a character’s name, a prop and a line of dialogue. The clock starts ticking and 48 hours later their seven minute short film is due.
Blumenthal Performing Arts is hosting the screenings at Booth Playhouse for a night of competition and creativity. The artists will be in the room watching their film on the big screen for the first time – Q&A to follow the screenings. If you are interested in seeing the filmmaking talent which lives here then you don’t want to miss this event!
