Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Returning to Charlotte Area

Thursday, November 17, 2011
ABC-TV’s Emmy-winning reality show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” will be returning to Charlotte as a local company has recently been selected as the builder for an upcoming episode to be filmed in December.
The family receiving the makeover will not be announced until December 11. Ken Kindley, president of the Lincolnton Chamber of Commerce, says there are five finalists from the Charlotte region.
Curtis and Alisha King of Charlotte were featured on the show in 2008 when their home in the Windsor Park neighborhood was rebuilt.
Bellamy Homes has been selected as the builder on the show and they are currently looking for volunteers to help with the project.
“To make it effective we’re going to need roughly 3,000 volunteers,” said Kyle Rush of Bellamy Homes.
Anyone interested in volunteering or donating products can visit BellamyHomes.com for more information.
December’s episode will be holiday themed and won’t air until the Christmas season in 2012. It will be a two-hour special edition of the ABC program, which features Ty Pennington and designers partnering with volunteers to build a new home for a deserving family in a single week.
A rally to kick off the project will be held on December 1st at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont.
