Friday, May 25

Charlotte Knights vs. Indianapolis Indians

7:04 p.m., BB&T BallPark, 324 S Mint St, Charlotte, NC 28202

Start your Memorial Day Weekend with a bang with Friday Night Fireworks after the game. The Knights and the Indians face off again at the same time on May 26 and May 27.

Silent Disco

8 p.m.-midnight, Rooftop 210, 210 East Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

Admission to this silent disco is free and includes a wireless headset that allows you to choose which DJ’s music you like best. VIP tickets are available that allow you to reserve a set of headphones, plus include a t-shirt and glow stick.

Saturday, May 26

The Dry Tri: Paddle, Bike, Run

8 a.m.-noon, U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28214

Want to work off that beer and BBQ as the holiday weekend begins? Sign up for The Dry Tri race at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The race includes a 1.25-mile paddle, 8-mile mountain bike ride, and 5-mile trail run. You must register by May 24.

JoyFest

10 a.m.-10 p.m., Carowinds, 14523 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273

JoyFest is a Gospel music celebration featuring concerts from Fred Hammond, Tye Tribbett, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Anthony Brown & Group Therapy. Tickets start at $35 and include park admission.

Lobster & Beer Fest

noon – 7 p.m., Sycamore Brewing, 2161 Hawkins St, Charlotte, NC 28203

Head to Sycamore Brewing for fresh lobster dishes served by Cousins Maine Lobster and Baltimore Crab Cake Company, plus live music on two stages, craft beer, wine, Wild Blossom Cider, popsicles and beer pops.

Charlotte’s Big Block Party

noon- 6 p.m., VBGB Beer Hall & Garden, 920 Hamilton St, Charlotte, NC 28206

Charlotte’s biggest block party is fun for the whole family and includes local bands, DJs, games, vendors, food and drink spread out in the VBGB parking lot and back patio. Tickets are just $5 and support the American Kidney Fund. BYO chair.

Crowned Sparrow Co: Crafternoon

4:30-6:30 p.m., 7th Street Public Market, 224 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

Get crafty this holiday weekend and show your love of Charlotte by creating a 12”x18” nail and string art piece of the Uptown skyline. Tickets are $34 and include all of the supplies you need.

Josh Phillips BIG BAND with Fish out of Water

Sunday, May 27

Memorial Day Celebration

9 a.m.-10 p.m., U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28214

Kick off your day with a 5-mile or 8-mile race through the U.S. National Whitewater Center trail system. After the trail race, the Memorial Day Celebration will continue with yoga, film screenings, live music, outdoor adventure and fireworks.

Spring Oyster Roast

1-4 p.m., Birdsong Brewing Co, 1016 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28206

Birdsong Brewing and Rocksalt Charlotte teamed up for an oyster roast with a fresh batch of Clustershuck Oyster Stout and oysters sold by the bucket. The event is free and family-friendly. Oysters will be $15/bucket, and raw oysters will be $15/dozen.

Tiki Party

7 p.m.-2 a.m., Howl at the Moon, 210 E Trade St, Charlotte, NC 28202

Since Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start of summer, what better way to kick it off than with a tiki party? Howl at the Moon’s Tiki Party will feature tropical drinks, summer jams, and backyard BBQ-style games. Wear a Hawaiian shirt for free admission!

Memorial Day Weekend Bash with Thirsty Horses and DJ Karz

Charlotte Knights vs. Indianapolis Indians

Charlotte

  • Carowinds hosts Military Days, where active, inactive or retired service men and women can get free park admission with a valid military ID card. The event runs Sunday, May 27 through Monday, May 28, as well as Monday, July 2 through Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Huntersville

  • The Town of Huntersville will hold its Huntersville Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Park on Monday, May 28, 11 a.m. The park is located at Main Street and Maxwell Street.

Cornelius

  • The Town of Cornelius and American Legion Post 86 will hold its Veterans Day Program at the Cornelius Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza and the Cornelius Town Hall lawn at 10 a.m. This program honors military veterans and those currently serving in our Armed Forces.

Mooresville

  • In Mooresville, Memorial Day events include the annual Field of Flags display on the fields of Lowe’s YMCA. The event is sponsored by the Mooresville-Lake Norman Exchange Club and runs May 25 thru May 28, 2018 at the Lowe’s Y, where a field of American flags is erected with each flag representing a veteran.
