Charlotte Hosted Duke Mayo Classic: Tar Heels vs Gamecocks, ESPN College GameDay, & Over 60K Expected Fans
Duke’s Mayo Classic featuring UNC Tar Heels vs SC Gamecocks will kick off the 2023 college football season along with ESPN’s College Game Day, on Sept. 2 in Charlotte.
The three-hour College GameDay show, which starts at 9 a.m., will broadcast live from Romare Bearden Park. The “Battle of the Carolinas” neutral-site game between SEC and ACC rivals will be played at 7:30pm at Bank of America Stadium, and nationally televised on ABC.
Charlotte Sports Foundation, which operates Duke’s Mayo Classic and Duke’s Mayo Bowl, expects over 60,000 fans in attendance.
