The festival is a celebration of the rich heritage and accomplishments of the African-American Community.

The festival is a celebration of the rich heritage and accomplishments of the African-American Community. The festival will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020, from 10:00am until 10:00 pm at Blumenthal’s Spirit Square at 345 North College Street in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.

The festival is free to the public and will include musical performances, art, literature, food, dancers, drummers, a pageant, speakers, vendors, and notable awards and recognition.

Extraordinary attractions will include a journey through the Underground Railroad with a Harriet Tubman impersonator, The Ashanti Pageant, and The Black History Walk of Fame which features impersonations of famous African-Americans, The Motherland Exhibit, The Brooklyn Neighborhood Exhibit and a Black Wall Street Exhibit.

Proceeds raised by the 8th Annual Charlottes African- American Festival will support media and talent programs in Charlotte, North Carolina.
